Introduction to real people food (well, kind of...)

We've noticed lately that Brady seems to be hungrier than normal and he's waking up earlier than he normally does. We thought maybe this is because he's ready to eat something besides milk, so we introduced avocados and sweet potatoes to him this week. The avocados were a bust, but he loved the sweet potatoes! It was so much fun watching him experience something new.

Avocados? No thanks.

Yes please! I pureed a sweet tater in a smoothie blender and froze what he didn't eat. I'm excited to experiment with other fruits and veggies.

Weekend in the country

We spent the last part of my spring break in Milam with Emi and Poppy. It was fun and relaxing, as always!

We went for a walk down the dirt road. Brady started out in his ergo but Poppy ended up carrying him a lot of the way. He likes to be able to see everything!

He loves reading books with Emi! This Puppy Boo book they are reading is one of his faves. He thinks the puppy looks like Willa.

We went to visit Mama and Papa's grave (my dad's mama and daddy).

Willa is always right there. Sweet girl :)

He got his first tick! Good thing he doesn't have much hair so it was easy to catch this little sucker!

Chewing on Aunt Susie's highlighter.

Brady was pretty comfy in Uncle Jim's lap!

Brady and Willa enjoying some Poppy time.

Mom and dad put this swing up when Dex was a baby. Dex enjoyed many years of it, and Pickle loves it too! Brady got to swing in it for the first time this weekend. He loved it! I'm sure there will be many hours spent in this swing.

Love this picture :)

Watching the brush fire.

Welcome to the country.

Brady meets Mema!

We took a trip to Jackson, MS last week to see Mema (Blake's grandmother). Nana and Grumps met us there. We also got to see Aunt Peggy and Uncle Mike. It was great getting everyone together and letting Brady meet some of his relatives for the first time!

Four generations

Brady's first time meeting Mema. They were so excited to meet each other!

Brady with Aunt Peggy. She really enjoyed loving on Brady!

I love this picture.

He loved hanging out on Grumps' shoulders.

Sitting outside watching the birds.

Eating Mema's finger. He did this pretty much all weekend!

Getting ready to send us off.

We had such a great time on our trip. Can't wait to go back!

6 month checkup

Brady had his 6 month checkup yesterday. He weighed 17 pounds, 5 ounces and was 26 inches long. The doctor said we can start introducing foods to him which should be fun!

His percentiles decreased a lot since his 4 month appointment. Doctor said we will just keep an eye on them to make sure everything looks normal.

It's rodeo season!

Brady's daycare had a rodeo parade a couple weeks ago. Might have been the cutest thing I've ever seen. All the babies were wheeled out in the red buggies and the older kids paraded out together. Everyone was dressed up in their rodeo attire. Brady had on his 'I'm not sure what's going on' face pretty much the whole time, and I think my face hurt from smiling so much!

Holding on to the stick horse I made for him.
