Bradyisms

Some of these are a couple months old, but I've kept a list on paper so I'm putting it here to remember his sweet little self!

- Has been saying lately "Mommy I love you toooo much." Swoon.

- Says "I got to stay up earrrrly!" if he gets to stay up past his bedtime.

- Blake was gone and I said something about us all being together and he said "Not together yet- we need Daddy!"

- Every meal is breakfast.

- Asked me the other day "Is this popcorn gonna be in my tummy forever?"

- When he says his ABC's:  "H I J K and some N O P"

- We were playing outside and he and Walker were super into digging in the flower beds. All the sudden Brady started running real fast into the house and about 3 seconds after he got in I heard "Mommy!" I came in and saw him standing there and he said "I pooped in my pants. I kept telling my breakfast that it's not time yet but it kept saying it IS time." Guess the breakfast won that one!

- Told me the other day "I'm thinking bout you all the time." Also, he gets Walker one of whatever he's having (ex: at the dentist the other day he couldn't leave without getting a toothbrush for his brother) and says "I'm always thinking bout my baby."

- Also the other day said, "I am always thinkin' 'bout my best friend. Never anyone else. Just my best friend named Walker."

- Says "Mama I'm glad you're my family forever."

- Super into making up songs lately. His latest: "Building a Sailboat Not Time to Scream"

- Went up to walker the other day and 'whispered': "Come on, Walker, let's go do what we're not 'posed to."

- I told him to eat his breakfast and he said "Don't worry bout me, Mom. Just worry bout yourself."

- We were playing the other day and he said "Wait! An idea just flew into my mouth!" and later "I have a plan that just flew into my mouth!"

San Antonio

Last week the boys and I joined Blake on his work trip to San Antonio. Oh man were the boys excited! We talked about the 'bacation' all week and haven't stopped talking about it since. We stopped in Gruene for lunch then continued on to our hotel in San Antonio. We just stayed one night (I'm sure the other hotel guests were thankful for this :)) but we packed in lots of activities and it was enough to leave a lasting impression on the boys. It's the small things with kids, and it is so fun to be able to make them so happy with a simple trip and a night in a hotel.

Edited to add some of Brady's best one-liners from the trip:

"Mom you're not letting me do anything I want to do!" (when I wouldn't let him climb up a cliff that he would surely fall down, throwing him right down on the road)

"I was just trying to have fun!" (when Daddy told him not to do something else; sounds like we are kind of fun-killers, huh?)

"We are looking for gold, treasure, and snacks!" (on our post-dinner, pre-bedtime family walk along the trolley tracks)

Brady's eyes! Haha.

Brady touched a cactus when he first got out of the car and had cactus needles all in his hands. He was not happy about that! It took some time getting them all out of his little paws.

Peekaboo with toddlers:

After lunch, we got some ice cream and a couple new popper guns for the boys!

One of the highlights of the trip was walking along the "charlie" (trolley tracks) outside our hotel.

Brady found a cliff that he spent quite a bit of time climbing. I love to see him challenge himself to try and accomplish new things!

Trying to push the cliff over:

And finally, a trip to Bass Pro while Daddy was at his meeting. (There was an Ulta next door that would've had my business but imagine these two in there...)

Walker 18 Month Checkup

Walker had his 18 month checkup this week. It was a regular checkup with not much to note. He weighs almost 29 pounds and is 33.5 inches long. I had both boys with me at the appointment so I didn't get many questions in with the doctor, but we did talk long enough to agree that 18 months is a hard age! Their little attitudes start shining through right about now...

The night before his appointment I had to take Walker to the urgent care clinic by our house. He woke up from his nap screaming and cried/screamed for 30 minutes. When we put him down he would just straighten his body out and kind of convulse. He wouldn't walk/stand/etc. His ear was bright red so we thought it might be an ear infection. By the time we took him he was still fussy but not as bad as he had been. The ears were red but not infected, and Dr. Peilop told me the next day that it could have been something with his GI system. It was scary, but it all turned out okay!
